Saint Vincent, Moulin hamlet, in one of the most pleasant and sunny hamlets above the town centre, a few minutes walk from the Casino, the Grand Hotel Bilia and the spa.
The property enjoys excellent exposure both in winter and summer, the view of Mount Zerbion to the north and the Ussel castle to the south, within a village in an autonomous position particularly quiet and private. The house, protected by Mount Zerbion is built according to the north-south axis which, according to some theories, facilitates the discharge of natural electromagnetic fields and therefore gives it an extremely relaxing directionality and exposure.
Even today it is immersed in greenery and surrounded by domestic gardens full of vegetables and flowers, and in all seasons the singing of birds drowns out all other noises.
Above the house flows the Rû de la Plana, a beautiful, almost flat walk accessible to all ages and in all seasons with panoramic views of great landscape and naturalistic quality.
The hamlet of Moulin, where the house is located, is located a stone's throw from the historic center of Saint Vincent, which in the early twentieth century, for its beautiful climate, earned the nickname "riviera of the Alps". It is located northeast of the Casino and Grand Hotel Billia complex and west of the spa.
The location, as suggested by the toponym, was home to numerous mills which, thanks to the driving force of the water, the presence of the Canale della Pianura and numerous other smaller streams, undoubtedly favoured the birth of these very important structures which, over the centuries, had enormous economic importance for the families who managed them and, more generally, for the entire community.
This village, rich in very fertile land and water, due to its good exposure to the sun and shelter from the winds, was surrounded by lush vineyards, orchards, chestnut groves and large fields of wheat on a slight slope that for centuries have allowed the breeding and production of cereal crops in quantities to guarantee important economic resources for the entire community. Near the house, still used for irrigation by the water of the Rù, we find the public wash house and the building that housed the mill of the Seris family.
The most famous character of this village was Rosalie D'Hérin in Séris (1871-1956), originally from Montjovet, who in her early twenties decided to go to Turin to learn the fundamentals of photography. Rosalie D'Hérin, after marrying Jean Séris, became the undisputed queen of photography of the Belle Epoque in Saint Vincent, photographing the frequenters of the prestigious spas who were experiencing their maximum splendor and the clients of the large hotels of the village that was transforming into a very fashionable tourist resort. In this house the photographer lived and established her own photographic studio as evidenced by her own photos.
