Redondesco is a small (1200 inhabitants) and quiet municipality in the Province of Mantua which is about 25 km away. Rich in history, the center of the town is the Medieval Castle built in 1163 under the concession of Emperor Frederick I Barbarossa. The Fortress Castle was then the residence of the Counts of Redondesco until 1240. Subsequently, in 1404, the deputies of the town offered Francesco Gonzaga the government of the community and the command of the Fortress. This brought privileges and exemptions, which made the population rich.
During the summer, country and themed festivals such as Medieval Settings are organised, important orchestras, including foreign ones, are invited to perform, Carnival floats parade through the streets. The Sunday morning market brings with all its exhibition areas excellent products in the food sector from gastronomy to meat, fruit and vegetables, all typical local products.
